IMPORTANT RECOMMENDATIONS
FOR BETTER SERVICE
- Add only distilled water to battery if topping up is required during service. Never add acid to battery. - Check the specific gravity of electrolyte periodically with a hydrometer. Note that the
specific gravity of acid is the best indication of battery's state of charge. - If specific gravity of acid falls below 1 .220 at 25oC, the battery is to be recharged. - Always
keep the top of battery clean and free from deposits and debris. - Keep the battery vent plugs clean and free from deposits and debris. - If a charged battery is not in use, store it a cool and
dry place, and recharge it at least once a month.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS HANDLING ACID OR ELECTROLYTE:
o When working with acid/electrolyte, such as filling batteries, wear splash proof goggles and protective clothing if available.
o Use extreme care to avoid spilling or splashing electrolyte as it can destroy clothes and burn the skin.
o If electrolyte is spilled or splashed on clothes or body, use excessive water to wash.
o If electrolyte is spilled into eyes, force the eye open and flood it wish cool and clean water.
o If electrolyte is prepared, always pour the concentrated acid into the water.
